Mail-in database: Users want the Subject line of recieved mail to carry over if they press the “forward” button from within the mail-in database. The Memo form for the mail-in database simply has @Command([MailForward]). Do I have to do this the long way in LotusScript or is there an easier way?
Right now I’m writing a script that will build the memo on the back end, dump all the fields (including the Subject) into a new mail memo and then display this as a new uidoc to the user. I’ve tried a couple of things with environment variables to no avail. Ideas, anyone? Sample code would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for reading!

Subject: LotusScript forwarding mail question
Hi Tricia,
@Command([MailForward]) by default retains the memo subject. So there’s no need to write any extra code. I hope you are not concerned about the prefix “FW:” which gets added by using this command.

Subject: RE: LotusScript forwarding mail question
The button with @Command([MailForward]) dumped the document into a mail memo but the Subject field was blank.
Then I tried this in LotusScript:
Call UIDocument.Forward
and it did the same thing - opened a memo with the other mail in the body but the Subject was blank.

Subject: RESOLVED: LotusScript forwarding mail question
@Command([MailForward]) USUALLY pulls in the Subject field - in the case of this mail-in database, however, that didn’t happen. I wrote the following workaround in formula language. The client is happy, but I am reporting this bug to Lotus for a fix, hopefully in R 8.x.

SubjectText := @GetField ( “Subject” );
@Command([MailForward]);
@Command([EditGotoField]; “Subject”);
@Command([EditInsertText]; SubjectText)
