LotusScript Connector

I am having trouble connecting to my db2/400. The DB2 is on the same iSeries as my Domino Server. The 2 enviroments are currently “talking” to each other via DECS…so, I know there is some sort of connection. I have a RDB set up in the Domino Host file pointing to S106695 as *LOCAL. My LS is running on the Domino Server as opposed to my Local PC. Here is my simple LS code which resides in a button:

Option Public

Uselsx “*LSXLC”

Sub Initialize

On Error Goto Handler

Dim s As New LCSession

Dim src As New LCConnection (“db2”)

src.Database = “s1066598”

src.UserID = “my userid goes here”

src.Password = “my password goes here”

src.Connect

Handler:

If (s.Status <> LCSUCCESS) Then

Msgbox s.GetStatusText, 0, “The following Lotus Connector error has occurred”

Else

Msgbox Error$, 0, “The following LotusScript error has occurred”

End If

End Sub

when I run the LS I receive a Lotus Connector error which reads

Error: [IBM][CLI Diver] SQL1013N The database alias name or database name “s1066598” could not be found. SQLSTATE =42705, Connector ‘db2’, Method -connect- (-1013)

Obviously I am completely new to LSXLC however I have just recently completed the ND540 LotusScript Class (still learning)

Any help will be very appreciated

Thank you

Subject: LotusScript Connector

I had the same problems with ODBC and AS400/DB2. That is why I went to the path of the JDBC. It is easier and quicker. You can have Lotus Script call the java methode via LS2J or you have have an agent that is all java.

This might make your life easier…
