Lotus Traveler task not starting!

After an uxpected and unsual Traveler install, now when I run the http task on the Domino console, I get:

06/04/2010 10.38.27 HTTP Server: Using Web Configuration View

06/04/2010 10.38.34 JVM: Java Virtual Machine initialized.

06/04/2010 10.38.34 HTTP Server: Java Virtual Machine loaded

06/04/2010 10.38.34 Servlet engine initialization was successful

06/04/2010 10.38.34 HTTP JVM: com.lotus.sync.servlet.TravelerServlet: init

06/04/2010 10.38.35 HTTP JVM: Traveler 8.5.1.1 Build 201001081138

but when I run the “show task” command on Domino server I cannot see any traveler task running.

I also tried to run “load traveler” on the Domino console by hand, but no reply.

When I try to connect via Safari browser (iphone) to “http://host/servlet/traveler

I can login but I get an error message on the browser stating that Lotus Notes Traveler server is not available !

and at the same time, on the Domino console, I can see:

“HTTP JVM: Traveler: Lotus Traveler task is not operational. Client request denied for CN=Utente Sviluppo/O=COMPANY/C=IT.”

and o the Traveler log on Domino server I get:

"

"

Any ideas? I’m running out of ideas and getting frustrated because usually I face no problems with Traveler…

Thanks

Subject: Any Success?

Hi Cristian,

Did you find out what the problem was?

I have a very similar problem. After running Traveler for months without any problems, I did some reconfiguration of the server (other ip address, deinstall Sametime) and now Traveler no longer works. Everything is starting without error, but if I access the server via the browser and log in I get “Lotus Notes Traveler server is not available.”. I reinstalled Traveler and also Domino, but I keep getting the error.

Subject: Problem solved!

In the end - after reinstalling Domino and traveler - I found out what the problem was.

In the server document on the tab Internet Protocols \ HTTP the setting “Bind to host name” was set to “Enabled”. I do have multple IP addresses on the server, zo I used this setting to avoid the Domino server listening on the other addresses. Appartently this was causing problems for Traveler, because now I’ve set it to “Disabled” Traveler works!

I still don’t understand why, because this setting was always set to Enabled. But I am very happy to have Traveler working again.
