Lotus Traveler & iPhone Trash Issue

I have an iPhone connected to Lotus travler. Everything is working great as far as the push and sync, but the trash can keeps disappering. The only way I can fix it is to delete the account on the iPhone and reinstall. When the trash can is missing there is no way to delete emails from the iPhone. I have seached the web with no resolve.

Thanks in advance.

Subject: Same here on one device

Has there been any movement on this?

Subject: The same happens to me…

… it works fine for some days. I Can delete messages from my I Phone with no problem, but one day, without changing nothing it stop works and I receive a message “Unable to Move Message. The message could not be moved do the mailbox Trash”. Thanks

Subject: Same here

We are having this same issue only on 1 user out of 20 or so.

I have reinstalled her traveler account for the fourth time now and I’m sure I’ll see her in a few weeks to do it again.

If you guys find anything out on this issue please update here.

Do you have the Trash folder on the Apple or has the Apple lost it (Traveler never deletes it)? If you have Trash on the device, it could just be connectivity at the time that you did the delete. Remember, Apple implemented the mail delete/move operations to only work when connected - if you are not connected at the time, it gives you the error and does not remember it for later. This is completely an Apple implementation issue.

We have certainly had reports of both. The Trash folder disappearing on the device is an Apple problem, but we do not have a device in order to recreate to send Apple logs. You can contact Apple and work with them yourselves too.

Subject: LN traveler - unable to move message - I have Exactly the same issue

The only way to resolve this is to reinstal traveler profile.

It seems that delete message operation and consitency of trash folder is 100% depends on network connectivity.

It is better to not delete messages at all if you are hooked on unstable network conncection -based on my experiences.

If anybody find fix for this please post it here.

Thx!

Gregor

Note: the move error for connectivity is not related to the original post or other responses.

The way Apple has implemented the AS spec, it must be connected to do the Move (to Trash which is a “delete” or another folder). This was completely an Apple choice.

There is not really a reason not to try to delete even when you have unreliable/unstable network connectivity. If it doesn’t work, the Apple will pop up a message and not delete it. This doesn’t hurt anything other than you will need to delete it again because it wasn’t really deleted. You will also notice that Apple tries for a while, so you may not get the failure until later (minutes later).
