I recently setup Lotus Traveler and its been working great with our iPhones. Now the first Windows mobile phone we try it on, it won’t download the config file.
Anyone have directions to manually set it up? I saw them somewhere, now can’t find them.
Any other ideas when a device won’t download the file?
Subject: RE: Lotus Traveler–can’t download bootstrap file on Windows Mobile
Some phones are not able to download unknown file types due to the security policy on the device. One of the easiest ways around this with Windows Mobile is to simply download to your laptop or desktop computer then transfer to the device using ActiveSync cable connection or someother transfer mechanism such as IR or Bluetooth. This info center topic has some additional info:
I downloaded the bootstrap file to the users computer and then copied it over via the USB cable but still could not open it. Got a message that no program was configured to open it.
I ended up downloading the Traveler client to the phone and installing that. It’s working.
