Lotus Traveler 8.5.1 inbox empty

Problem with the mail inbox when i configure devices against our traveler server.Its the same with all deveices, Windows mobile, Nokia, iPhone. Immediately contacts, calendar and other mailfolders syncs but dont the Inbox.

After some hours trying with both delete and reset users and devices, clear the travelercache etc etc, all of a sudden i starts sync the inbox.

This is a big problem because the users cant configure the devices them self.

We dont use SSL authentication.

Any suggestions?

Did you ever get this problem resolved as we have a problem with one of our users. The subfolders are ok just nothing showing in the inbox. All other users are ok. Have tried different devices and all the same.

This could be an issue with the mail database itself. The $Inbox might have been corrupted at some point. If you do a user dump (tell traveler dump ), you can look for $Inbox. If it is missing, that’s the issue. You would need to run fixup or replace the design again to try and clean it up. If that’s not it, then we would need logs and maybe a copy of the user’s mail database design (not data, just the design) to determine the root cause of the problem.

I had the same problem after moving from a US language to a dutch language template.

This worked for me:

On the Domino server console running travaler:

tell traveler show

This wil get you the deviceid

tell traveler reset

I have one problematical account, where i I too find this empty inbox issue, using a brand new iPhone and traveler 8.5.3.1 but only see this for one user, if i set the phone up as another user, the iPhone profile works without any problem… i have fixed, updall’ed and compacted the application, i have told traveler to reset the handset/user plus replacing the design of the un-modified mail 8.5.2 application. i must also inform, that we have been having some issues with this account and have just replaced the mail application with a “new clean version”… mail is working to notes clients and also iNotes works fine too.

When i use the same iphone to access the account with IMAP - it works without any bother at all.

i am tempted to use the imap for mail and traveler for the rest, however, this is not optimum.

You should open a PMR so that we can look at the logs from the point of the reset command+profile install through the data syncing. It could be language related, no Inbox, two Inboxes, etc. The user dump might give you a hint, but the best thing would be to open the PMR.

Due to some other issues i was having with this account, i had set up an agent to copy incoming mail to a backup inbox in the same mail database… the NON appearance of mail in my traveler in box was cleared up by the following info:-

"I suspect this could be related to the fact that the mobile devices only allow mails to be in one folder (not multiple like Domino), so if the same message was copied from Inbox to

Backup Inbox (manually or by rule), Traveler will only consider it to be in Backup Inbox and not in Inbox. So, if you are copying the messages into Backup Inbox from Inbox on an ongoing basis, that would explain why the Inbox is empty."
