Lotus (still) doesn't know DXL roundtrip

How to round trip DXL design elements.

I thought only layoutregions were affected,

but embedded editors also dissapear.

Any update if this is going to be supported at some point in time?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Subject: Improvements are going in to 8.52

Jo,

For 8.52, we are adding a element to DXL that will provide some relief. It is used to capture CD records that are, unfortunately, dropped by the DXL Exporter in 8.51 and earlier. is helpful in “round-tripping” where you want to export and import the DXL with the particular construct, such as a layout region, intact. It is not conducive to actually modifying properties of the construct, because simply contains the binary data for the CD record, encoded in Base64.

We implemented in hopes that the round-tripping of constructs that were previously lost will be valuable to many users, even though the data is not really in a modifiable format. So, it depends on your needs, but if you didn’t need to use DXL to modify those records, this new element will help you.

Of course, the longer term solution is to have specific DXL elements and attributes for all richtext constructs. Currently, our plan is that will fill the gap until we complete most of the other round-trip parity issues for design elements, then we can drive richtext to full round-trip parity.
