anyone know if Notes Protector captures things people post to databases?
For instance, if I tried to email another notes user a virus I would assume it would catch that. But if I post a virus to a database in Notes/Domino, is it going to catch that???
thanks!
Subject: From what I understand, protector is a gateway server between your server and the web.
therefore it would not do this, but I could be wrong.
For what you want to do, you would need a client side virus scanner.
Subject: Not sure about IBM’s product here.
But, I can tell you this. SMSDOM (Symantec Mail Security for Domino) does do this.
It also actively scans both internal mail as well as external mail in realtime.
I just wish they had a 64 Bit version of SMSDOM. Then I could convert to the 64 Bit version of Domino.
