Could any professional let me know about ‘how lotus notes work with oracle database’ ?
I’m just a new member of lotus notes developer.
I would like to know more about notes with oracle.
Is it possible if I want to use lotus script connect to oracle database and how to do?. If you please more, could you give me the details about an advantages&disadvantages if I use it (notes+oracle). I have been heard about notes connect to AS/400. It cannot work as interactive.
They said, "it’s neccessary to import data from AS/400 to notes as a buffer before using in notes application.’ if this case is not different to oracle, has an any other way to resolve. Because our data always interactive.

I have used ODBC to connect to Oracle back ends, I have used this to web enable some sales data. This works fine if you are moving small amounts of data, or doing searches.
If you are looking to do more complex integration, for example loading many thousands of records to/from Notes/Oracle then I owuld suggest you use LEI / or Notrix
I have used Notrix for a number of projects, and have found it to be reliable, easy to use (has its own development GUI) and fast (3000 records in 10 secs) You can also force replication/viewupdates/run agents etc.

I’m not a developer, but I’ve tried Lotus Domino with Oracle via ODBC and via Oracle client using DOLS. It works. I have’nt tried LEI (Lotus Enterprise Integrator), but it should work with Oracle and Domino too and even better I quess.
