Lotus Notes Traveler - system failed to open mailbox db

Hello,

I have installed Lotus Traveler 8.5 on Lotus Domino 8.5.1 server in a fresh test environment. When i start the server, i get the below error message:

03/03/2010 04:57:35 PM Error connecting to server LNTestServer/ABTV: The remote server is not a known TCP/IP host.

03/03/2010 04:57:35 PM Notes Traveler: SEVERE *system failed to open mailbox db on CN=LNTestServer/O=ABTV

I visited few posts in the forum where it suggested the FQDN and the computer name should be same and the hosts file should include the IP address of the system. I followed the steps but continue to get the error message.

Anyone please let me know what am I missing here and what steps should I follow to resolve this error.

Please note: I have set up the test server on a Laptop with Win XP SP3.

Thanking you for your time.

Regards,

Yusuf.

Subject: Possibly wrong IP address in server doc

Had the same problem recently and found that the TCPIP IP address in the server’s server doc, under Ports/Notes Network Port, was incorrect. Fixed this and restarted Domino and all was fine.

If the IP is wrong the server cannot connect to itself.

Hope that helps,

Michael

Subject: That fixed it for me

That was the resolution for me. I changed the FQDN post-installation and neglected to update the fields under Notes Network Port.

Thanks!
