Hi,
I’ve installed lotus notes (during installation I choosed for set as default email programm)I’m also using outlook express wich I want to make default now, but when going to tools / options in outlook the button for making outlook default doesn’t come up.
Is this done by installation of lotus notes and does anybody know how to solve this???

You can argue this two ways.
The Notes installer sets the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry key that sets the default email client for all users and it sets the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry key for the default email client for the current users. When you use Outlooks option to set it as the default email client again, it only checks the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry key. However this doesn’t actually change the default email client when the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE key is still set. So who has the bug? Notes because it sets both keys or Outlook because it only checks one, and it doesn’t check the one that really matters.
Anyway, to fix the problem you need to remove the default value for the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Clients\Mail registry key. Then use the Outlook menu item to set it as the default email client again.
There is an SPR on this and I believe that the Notes behavior will be changed in 6.5.3

I totally disagree with the statement posted below. If the installation program for Notes screws up a previous setting (like Outlook being default email program) that the majority of users will have set there most definatly better be a post on the Lotus forums on how to fix it:-----------------------------------------------
