Hi,
I am am working on a plugin in Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat which supports sending of emails using various email clients. We noticed a large number of crashes while using the Lotus Notes APIs and dlls. Some of the scenarios where the crash happens are
-
If the user is not connected to a network and he attempts to send a mail
-
If the domino server is not available
-
If the user does not enter the password in the window when prompted and instead cancels the operations.
We are using Lotus Notes 8.5.3. The crashes are observed in nmailman.dll. These crashes cause Acrobat and Reader to crash. Before crashing , a dialog box saying “Invalid Pointer” is shown. We need to know if it will be possible for you to handle the above cases and prevent nmailman.dll from crashing.
Steps to reproduce
-
Install Lotus Notes Email Client Version 8.5.3 and configure a valid email id on it
-
Install Adobe Reader 11
-
Open a pdf file in reader 11
-
File → Send File → Default Email Application (Lotus Notes) → Continue.
nmailman.dll - Version 8.5.30.11258
Under ordinary circumstances, the email will go through. In case the user is not connected to the network, etc as mentioned above, the crash happens.
Thanks and Regards
