Hi, As per me u should upgrade first R5 client by R6 and then by R6.5.5 bcos u can’t upgrade directly R5 to R6.5.5 this may be one problem to ur installation, but keeping in mind throughout this process 1st of all check ur previously notes client path which must be e.g. C:\Lotus\Notes\Data if it is then u get successfully upgrade ur notes setup. If still u are getting problem to do this then please let me know through reply to this query. Ok Have a gud day.

thank you for replying to my post…
i have tried upgrading from R5 to R 6.5.5 with a manual install, this went ok.
Now the program files are on the local drive and the data files are on a network drive (users homefolder).
manually i can do this if i am local admin, the sms installation can to this also locally but fails when he has to update the (notes\data) files which are the network drive.
Home someone can provide me some info.

Ronny,
I too am having the same issue, I have Program Files installed Local but the Data Files are installed on the Network Homeshare just as you indicate. I would think that if this was an upgrade and the information is in the installer location within the registry that this would be no issue at all; boy was I wrong thinking that! I have been looking for quite sometime on how to make this install to a network share from SMS and have not been successful. Please if you find the answer let me know hopefully before the end of the month (April). If anyone knows please let us know
Thank you,
John
