Hi all, I’m not able to open the Notes Client. When I try opening it, the client hangs… and

I get the following error messsage.

“JVM Terminated. Exit Code=-805306369”. I’m using Notes.8.0.2 standard edition and my OS is vista enterprise…

Hi Thiyagarajan,

I have seen several issues with Notes installed on Vista occur due to User Account Control (UAC).

If all else fails, I would suggest uninstalling the Notes Client and removing all remnants of Notes 8 from the Machine following Technote 1283596 below.

Then, Turn off UAC by following the steps outlined in Technote 1269041 below, and reinstall the Client. Take NOTE of the “New Installation Procedure for 8.0.1” Section, as it is recommended you Install your Notes Client in a path external to the Program Files folder.

I found a different solution. I just renamed the workspace folder and then tried opening notes. It works fine…

I had the exact same problem, Notes failed after 6 months of usage on Vista. After renaming the Workspace folder it worked magically!
