A user’s mail database, all the sudden, does not appear in the Lotus Notes. I checked the file system on the Windows 2003 server, and it is there…with the filename in tact, with the correct .nsf extension. I tried to run fixup and it says the file does not exist. It’s like Notes doesn’t recognize the file. I tried to copy the file locally and try to open it, same result, file does not exist. I have checked the log.nsf, but nothing appears to be related. I have never seen this before. Any ideas?

Have you restarted the server?
I’ve seen times where a file gets locked by another process, and Notes will report the error, then seem to forget about the file until the server is restarted.
If you take the server down, can you run nfixup on the file?
Do you have any Anti-Virus or Save utilities that might have locked the file (at the operating system level) ?

I have restarted the server with and tried to open it…no success. I haved copied the file locally as well with no success. This may be a coincidence…but I was on the Windows 2003 server checking the file properties of this database…the date it was created Feb 8th, 2005…the day this happened…Feb 8th, 2007…exactly 2 years. Weird!
