I am looking for a efficient method to upgrade Lotus Notes client to 6.x. Can anyone recommend like third party tools or experience in using upgrade by mail etc.

I feel you can get many opinions on this method, but you need to have a way for you to this against yourself. It is the sure fire way for you get some confidence on this process.
R6 also has the smart upgrade now too, so I would gander the help file for how it works.

ADT from Wolcott, InstallPump is another.
Smart Upgrade only works if the client is already at least 6.0.
