a number of users who experienced random slow down spikes on the lotus notes client. For example a user clicks on new message and lotus notes client will be like not responding. This happens like for 2 minutes and then it resumes and the response is normal. During the earlier mentioned slowness happens, if another user tries the same thing, he will experience the same thing, BUT not all of the users will face this slowsness. Eg if 8 person tries, maybe 2-3 persons will feel the slowness. Aparently, during that period, users can still switch to other programs (which shows theat the client is still very responsive) Checked both clients and servers and all resources seems ok and there are not errors being log in the event viewer. This slowness is not reproducable, and happens randomly, I had this errors like 3 days in a day. The funny thing is we were running fine for like 6 months now and this random slowness only happend last week. Server reboot does not do the trick. Any ideas? Thanks and regards, Jamie.
Subject: Re: Client speed issue
I have no experience with Vista but (a) do you have any client virus checker scanning the Notes\Data folder? (b) does Vista have any other services that interact with the drive that the Notes data sits on?
Subject: We have the same issue.
We are having the same problem. It’s all over our networks (east coast, west coast) but it’s one server only.
Our users have been upgraded (slowly) to the 8.0.2 client but the server is 8.0.1.
Our symptoms are exactly as you describe.
Subject: Same here, need a fix
He haven’t upgraded our Lotus, so it must be something else. None of the computers in our organization use Vista. Has anyone solved their problem yet?
