I do not know if I speak for myself, or for many, when I say that I came away from lotusphere impressed with the product, but equally discouraged by what appeared to be an incoherent means by which to accomplish seamless deployment. I attended a session on configuration and setup, which seemed to require training in and of itself.
Also, the cost. Websphere is WAY to expensive. I spoke with several reps from IBM in the workshops and labs, who could not even give me anything beyond arbitrary numbers on cost…and those numbers will hardly make the entire websphere/workplace architecture that IBM is pushing a mainstream business solution.
