Ok this is my first post.
I cannot track down where to offer this information to the 8.5 Beta team so I am posting here in the hope of getting assistance. So I guess I must start off by apologizing to the moderators.
I am trying to get my Calendar entries from my Notes Client to my local iCal application - so as to sync it to my phone. This is a manual process.
I have made a few observations while using Lotus Notes Version 8.5.
If I create a Calendar entry on my Lotus Notes Client. for example - 1pm Lunch.
Then I manually export this entry to the desktop (ics format) - then I double click the exported file so as to import this into iCal.
The entry is created correctly in iCal without any issues.
However - if I receive a meeting invite from a colleague.
-
I accept the invitation - the entry is created correctly in Lotus Notes 8.5
-
Open the Calendar
-
I ‘select’ the Cal entry and from the menu at the top select ‘File’ then ‘Export’
-
Export the ‘selected Document’ and choose the ‘.ics’ format
-
This creates a file that contains all the data in the .ics file
-
I now double click this .ics file and iCal opens and imports the entry
-
The Problem is that the entry is 10 hours ahead of what is should be!! (noting that my laptop & all settings are set to my local timezone).
Now - Following the same export steps as a detailed above - I select the option to export the file as ‘Structured Text’.
Now I created a structured text file for both a locally created note cal entry and one received by a colleague.
When you compare them the timezone entries are different.
e.g. Locally Created on (that works fine)
StartTime: 05:00:00 PM
StartTimeZone: Z=-10$DO=0$ZX=204$ZN=Australia/Brisbane
EndTime: 06:00:00 PM
EndTimeZone: Z=-10$DO=0$ZX=204$ZN=Australia/Brisbane
Eg. Entry From Colleague
StartTime: 05:00:00 PM
EndTime: 06:00:00 PM
StartTimeZone: Z=-10$DO=0$ZX=26$ZN=E. Australia
EndTimeZone: Z=-10$DO=0$ZX=26$ZN=E. Australia
Noting that the timezone I am in is (GMT +10) Brisbane - I find this may be a bug that could cause you problems.
I hope this helps.
