I´m suggesting my boss to install Lotus over Windows 64bits in order to take advantages of using all the memory of the hardware and also because I think everything will come in 64 bits in future.
He´s asking me to show him functional advantages of Lotus64bits vs Lotus32bits …I don´t find that information… do you have some information to share??
Notes client is 32-bit only, but you can run it on 64-bit Windows (in compatible mode).Domino server has both 32-bit & 64-bit versions for Windows, but no functional differences as I know of.
There are numerous differences between 32 bit vs 64 Bit. The biggest is the OS Address Space limits between the OS’s. Domino is Large Address Aware and can use more than 2 GB however 32 Bit OS caps the Address Space @ 2 GB or 3 GB if using the 3 GB switch. On a 64 Bit Server with 32 Bit Domino your Address Space is almost 4 GB and when running 64/64 it is 8 TB. Another big advantage is the amount of data that can be handled on a 64 Bit Box compared to a 32 Bit Box as the OS Page Pool is significantly smaller on 32 Bit vs 64 Bit.
