Hello All,
There must be something wrong here, but everytime when I start notes, the application hangs after 7 seconds.
I run OSX 10.6. 4GB memory. MacbookPro.
I installed notes client 8.5.1 AND 8.5.2. Both hanving exactly the same issues.
The hanging process is Eclipse. But when I Use eclipse for development, it runs perfectly.
When I remove the notes settings from the OSX. I get the setup procedure for my account. But the next time I startup with the settings, it hangs. This is always reproducable.
I hope that anyone can help me. I am lost at the moment.
Thanks!
Peter Peeters.
Subject: Jave update?
Did you recently install the Java update from Apple? My 8.5.2 install started crashing like you’re describing after this update. Haven’t figured out a fix yet…

Yes I installed the update. It is automaticly here. Wasn’t that update about 1 month ago ?

I believe this one came out within the past week or so. Just now, I used the Java Preferences app (in your Applications > Utilities folder) and changed the preferred Java version to the 32 bit version (it was set to the 64 bit version) - you do this by dragging whichever one you want to load first to the top of the list.
After making that change, Notes is running fine again.

Hi Ed,
I tried it. Set the JSE 1.6 32 bit on top. Started Notes, still the same. Is there a setting in Notes which keeps the Java type?
It is eclipse. And that one is system choice based.
Thanks in advance…
Subject: Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 3
Peter,
I’m not aware that Notes has any preference settings for Java… not sure what to suggest at this point. In googling around, I did run across some other apps (eclipse-based) that are having problems after the Java Update 3 patch. Didn’t save the links, but if you google for “Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 3” and eclipse, or Notes, you should get some hits.
