Lotus Notes 8.5.1 client not listed in Windows 7 "set your default programs"

During the installation of the Lotus Notes 8.5.1 client I answered yes to set Lotus notes as the default e-mail program.

When I go to “Set your default programs” found by going to Start - Control Panel - Default Programs - Set your default programs Lotus Notes is not listed as a selection. If I choose Microsoft Office Outlook or Windows Contacts I can see that IBM Lotus Notes/Domino or rcplauncher.exe is set as the Current Default for some Extensions, Protocols and MAPI.

Am I missing something, how can I make Lotus notes an option to select?

Subject: thank you Microsoft!

Windows 7 is the same as Vista - it will not display Notes as an option To get it as the default, you must go via “Set Program Access and Computer Defaults” then chose “Custom”. Be very careful because if you go for the general “Other” option, it will uninstall Internet Explorer as well out of spite!
