Lotus Notes 8.0 - Partial Installation Occurred

Our company rolled out Lotus Notes 8.0 a year ago, and as of Monday, we are no longer able to install Lotus 8.0. Whether using our custom installation or the Lotus Notes Standard installation, our users are all receiving the below error:

Partial Installation and setup occurred.

Below are details about the features that failed to setup.

CWPPR0503I: The installation of feature com.ibm.rcp.eclipse.rcp.ui.feature_6.1.0.0.200707311521 was cancelled.

CWPPR0544W: Feature com.ibm.eswe.preference.feature_6.1.0.0.200707311521 failed to configure due to an unexpected exception.

Configuration Admin Preferences (6.1.0.0.200707311521) require…

Unexpected results have occurred during the provisioning operation.

For additional information please refer to the logs.

Then when we try to run lotus we get the error:

An error has occurred see the log file.

These installations have worked fine for over a year - we are even using the original installation disks that worked before but no longer do. We can also install 8.5 without an issue on the same machines.

My first thought was a windows update had caused the issue, but the test machine I use has Windows XP with Service Pack 3, and no other updates have been installed. There is also nothing else installed on this machine, and I successfully installed Lotus 8.0 last week without an issue. Several of the PC’s with the problem are brand new and have never had Lotus installed, so it can’t be a bad uninstall causing the issue. We have also ruled out a Java issue.

The log files are all showing the same thing:

SEVERE Application error org.eclipse.osgi

Does anyone have any ideas of what might have cause this, or is anyone else having the same issue?

Subject: Update…

We have just discovered that this issue is caused by the date - setting the system date back to the first week of april allows the installation to occur with no issue, if you set the date back to today you get the error.

Subject: Same issue here

I was hitting the same issue and changing the date back worked for me too!

Any idea why this happens?

Is this a licensing issue?
