Lotus Notes 6.0 Mail Configuration problem

Hi,This is my first day in company and I’m having problem in configuring lotus notes 6.0.

I can enter in the lotus notes with my ID and password but when I configure it for Mail INBOX, it does not recognise the server name, also when I want to create connection it does not give me option of port name vix. LAN0 or TCP/IP. So I can not set it to TCP/IP and then it gives me error like you have to specify port name, but as I don’t see that option I can not check it.

Please do help me in this regard.

Its very necesary for me to configure my account today.

Also I tried to select ports by, File->Preferences->user Preferences->Ports,

But I don’t see any ports to select in that. It is empty, also I tried to add new ports but it doesn’t accept TCP/IP…hyphen and etc.

Subject: Lotus Notes 6.0 Mail Configuration problem.

Have a look at your notes.ini - there’s a line Ports=Make sure it has TCPIP in it. Also, above the Ports line you must have

TCPIP=TCP, 0, 15, 0

Underneath bot, there should be DisabledPorts=

Make sure TCPIP is not in there.

Also, can you see other things on the network outside of Notes? Are you sure you’re connected? Are you not in Island location?
