I know this is off topic, but I’m hoping some of my fellow domino admins have seen this and found a solution.
We are a 6.5.4 shop. We have been runnin BES 2.2 Sp3 for awhile now. We’ve installed BES 4 on a new server and will be migrating users over.
The problem is that the “import from legacy server” does nothing (it actually worked ONCE). RIM’s given me some stuff to look at but that’ll have to wait till next week.

Is your question on how to get the import featur to work or whether or not to use the import feature at all?
On a few accounts, we’ve run into problems with the Import and manually removed them as a user from the old system and added them as a new user on the new system. That should always work but has at least one drawback in that they won’t be able to repy to old messages.
One thing to look at in getting the Import to work is that the the Notes account in use when the Import is being performed needs to have Create replica access on the new BES server.

Yeah - the drawback you mentioned is what we’re trying to avoid. I imaging we could come up with a process by which we wipe out the memos from the handheld and set the prepopulation value higher to get messages back over.
On the suggestion on the create replica access, I’ve done that already. I’ve even made all my servers “Trusted Servers” and added the localdomainservers and blackberryadmins group to replica creation access.

What is the exact problem? when you click the import from legacy server button, the server you want to import is not listed? (I beleive when you click that button, the server is populated by sending a function call that returns all the servers that are in the same Notes Named Network(not Domain) as this server)
Or when users are moved they can receive but not send?
Or the profile document and state database is not getting moved over?

Profile doc and state db’s aren’t being moved.The import from legacy server function goes from start to finish as though it were successful (even says that it successfully completed) but nothing happens.
The one time that it worked, I selected the user to import and between the time i clicked next till the “successful” screen there was another screen indicating that the import was happening. That doesn’t appear now.
