Lotus Approach opening in Notes 8 teamroom

Hi,

We have a teamroom, when a user has attached Lotus Approach documents (.dbf, .adx, .apr) to the teamroom and when attempting to open the .apr file from the teamroom the user gets an error referencing their profile file location. When saving the files to the desktop the Approach database works fine.

From my understanding of Notes when a user is to open a file, the file will extract to the local temp directory and then open from there, is this the case ? If so then this would explain why we are getting the error as the reference files are still located in the teamroom and not the temp directory.

Is there anyway we can have the users open the files from the teamroom database without saving them to the desktop first ?

I myself have not had much experence with Approach so this could be a “its my first day” type issue.

Subject: Have them use the Approach APT format.

WIth in Approach you can choose file save as Approach APT file.

This APT is the apr, dbf, index files etc. packaged together, and was actually created for exactly this purpose when people emailed around approach Dbs.

By choosing this option you just attach the apt file nothing else.
