Lotus 8 Client & Domino 6 Does it work

I need to know if you can use the Lotus Notes Client version 8 with a Domino Server 6.02. Will this be a problem. I have summarized my system below.

I have Domino 6.02 loaded on Windows 2003 Server. The server has 512mb of Ram. All that this server is supporting is Lotus Domino. Nothing else is loaded other than Server 2003 and Domino 6.02.

I have a Compaq V6000 Laptop with a 1.8ghzM processor, 80gb Hdd, 1gb Ram. I understand that the Lotus Client is not support on Vista below version 7.0. I don’t have the time or money to upgrade Domino to Version 8. I tried loading the Lotus Notes client 6.02 and when I attempt to connect to my server I get the following error, “Server Error: Your certificate has expired” I copied my user.id from my other laptop with Windows XP to the Vista laptop. My XP laptop logs on just fine, but my Vista laptop gives me the expired certificate error.

Hi.

I suppose you have copied the an old version of your ID file (this happens twice a year to me). The 8.x client should work with the domino server.

Why don’t you try it out on a new/different computer or what about trying this out on a virtual machine?
