I passed 8.5 application development update exam. My last certification is Notes 7.0 application developer. Do I need to take LOT-801, which is an interim product and we don’t use composite application and WSDL at all?
I really hestiate to invest on this exam.

If I was you, I would take the 8.5.x certification. It’s better 'cause it’s an updated exam and some of this certifications works with Xpages, that is new (and better) for web application development.
Subject: Not true, you need to take it
If you are certified at the 7.0 level you need to take the 8.0 and 8.5 update exams. Taking the 8.5 update exam alone is not good enough to get certified for 8.5.
