Log size

I have new test server installed. The notes ini on the server contains the below parameter for Log.nsf. Even then, log events are not automatically deleted after 7 days. The database contains all the events logged since the day server was started for the first time. Any ideas…?

LOG=log.nsf,1,0,7,40000
