Subject: Log file in both NSF and Text format
In the server document in the public NAB look on the Internet Protocols/HTTP and about half way down there is a section for enabling DomLog and the Txt files. I have both set on my internal server because I use it to test output to the log for our Workflo!Log Analyzer. However, I would question why you would in a production environment want both to be enabled, but it is possible. You would be making the HTTP task do twice as much work which could significantly slow the server down. My recommendation would be one or the other. Our Workflo!Log Analyzer will work with either of the formates but I prefer the DomLog.nsf. So long as you can keep it fairly small there is no noticable performance difference. With our product once the Log Analyzer processes a hit that document is no longer necessary in DomLog.nsf so I have the space saver settings on DomLog set at 7 days. Makes everything much more manageable.
Take a look at our demo at:

You could write your own custom class which simply wraps up a .nsf log and a txt log. Something like this:
Class MyLog
Private fileLog As NotesLog
Private dbLog As NotesLog
Sub new( programName As String, dbName As String, fileName As String )
Set fileLog = New NotesLog( programName )
Call fileLog.OpenFileLog( filename )
Set dbLog = New NotesLog( programName )
Call dbLog.OpenNotesLog( "", dbName )
End Sub
Sub logAction( msg As String )
Call fileLog.LogAction( msg )
Call dbLog.LogAction( msg )
End Sub
Sub close()
Call fileLog.Close()
Call dbLog.Close()
End Sub
End Class
You would use the class like this:
Dim myLog As New MyLog( “My Agent”, “mylog.nsf”, “c:\temp\log.txt” )
Call myLog.logAction( “Hello world” )
Call myLog.close()
