Log file growing unusually

Hi All,

I have a problem of log file growing unusually. I have set it up to purge every three days in the notes.ini

Normal size of the log file is about 100 MB for few days and suddenly within a day it grows to about 3-4 GB. Following day it grows to about 6 GB. Withing about 3 days it comes to about 8 GB.

What could be the reason?

Subject: maybe a rouge program

Hi, I have had similar problems in the past. For me it was one particular program throwing an error over-and-over again. If I remember correctly, one program was writing an SQL error to the log about 4 - 20 per second for several days.

Just an idea, check to see if the log is being flooded by repeated errors.

Thanks for your feedback. There is no unusual things as such in the log file. But when I take a copy of the log file using File–>Application–>New Copy, the size of the copy is about 100MB. In the file system, it takes more than 4GB.
