Locked out of my previous mail database!

I had to recreate my notes user account including a new mail database. Now my previous mail database is unaccessible because it’s still recognising my old user account in its ACL list. Is there any way of gaining access to this mail database? I’ve tried via Admin Client all to no avail.

TIA

Pierre

If you still have your old user.id file, you can try to sign on with that id, open your old mail database and change its acl.

Another thing you can do is, if you have access to the domino server mail folder, copy your old mail file to your local computer using windows explorer and open it double-clicking on it.

Hi Juanvi!

Thanks for your posting. It worked. I opened it with my previous old user.id.

One other question. How can one import a mail database into a new one? I have many folders in my previous one and I wish to import them into my new one.

Thanks

Pierre

Uhm… I think the only thing you can do to import you mails is, on the old mail database, select every mail you have and then copy & paste into the new mail database. To import your folders… you will have to create them on your new mail database and copy & paste again.

You should be able to use the server client (on the server itself)to open your database and change the ACLs.

There is one setting that will stop this - “Enforce consistent ACls”, but if this is not set then it is the quickest way!!
