I have a machine which is accessed by multiple users and they are all going to access same Lotus notes Server.Recently because of virus problems on the produciton server, we switched them to backup server.
I had to change the Location document setting for Home/Mail server for each one of them.
Now because the production box is up, i was wondering is there a way i can make this change applicable to all the Lotus installations on that machine ?? (In reality we have multiple mahcines and multiple users for those machines…big concern)i have admin access to the machine. Any help appreciated…
how did you switch them to the other server? If you used the Move User to new mail server AdminP process then their home server in the location doc should get changed automatically the next time they authenticate with the server. There’s also Dynamic Client Config which may update it automatically but I’m not sure if this is one of the fields that will change or not.
Are you just looking for a way to automate the process so you don’t have to go in and edit a bunch of location docs manually?
Also… are your shared users using a single login/installation and just changing locations or is this setup in a sort of mutli-user configuration where they either map to their own unique data directories or are setup as roaming users?
My first thought is you could create a button to send to the users, the button would just contain code to edit the location docs with the appropriate server for that home/mail server field. We’ve done that a time or two in the past.
