Local to local replication

Hi, I have a personnal address book file that I have out on my network drive and I would like to set up a relication schedule for a local copy on my laptop. I want Notes to get the two to sync via Notes replication, that way I have an up to date address book on my laptop when I’m not connected to network. The personnal address book on the network is NOT going through a domino server, rather Notes treats it local,(e.g. U:\notes\myfile.nsf). I can create a local (laptop) replica on my C:\ of the network address book, and I am looking for the way to replicate the two using LotusScript (local to local replication). But I always get an error message because the replication can’t find path to a server…(error 4005). Before our upgrade to 6.01 CF1, we were using realease 4.57. With the release 4.57, we got the error message 4005 but the replication took place normally…

Thanks

Martine

You can’t replicate two local database. One must be on the server…

You are using Domino 6 - is your Notes client 6 as well? If so, why not use Roaming which does EXACTLY what you want, i.e. stores your Address book for you and pulls it down when you use Notes on a different machine. Mind you, you need to access the Domino server for the Roaming to work!

Hope this helps.

You can’t replicate two local database. It’s not true, even if was said on official cources.

It’s just not working by schedule now.

I’ve end up with manual replication when needed.

We plan to use this functionnality in few months… So we have to find a temporary solution… I would have the same problem with another database (a personnal application) saved on a network drive. Maybe someone has already done that before…

Thanks for your help.
