Local replicas get automaticall added to end users laptop or pc

A month ago I deployed some explicit policies. Now I am trying to get rid of them for good. Even though they have been deleted from the names.nsf (Directory) and the end users notes.ini (there are some references starting with repl*).

There is no pattern to this - a couple of days it works - all is well. All of a sudden those local replicas get automatically added to the user’s desktop, replicators, etc. It drives everybody nuts!

Help would be immensly appreciated - I can’t seem to find the solution.

I know you said you deleted the policies from the names.nsf. But did you go into the person docs and remove them from there? I know it seems goofy that if the policy doesn’t exist, why would it work if it is still assigned to a user, but stranger things have happened.

Maria - good point, but I already checked that on all 175 users - every person doc looks empty.
