I have been using N6 as my NNTP client recently. I created an account to read IBM’s internal forums.
Once I had the account set up I created a local replica for offline work.
I also modified the design, replacing the standard list of folders with an outline so I could display unread counts (works beautifully) and all was well for a while.
I’ve noticed more recently that during replication, the full list of subscribed newsgroups is not checked, the replicator status page counts through about 9 out of 36 or so I subscribe to. So I have 3/4 of my newsgroups not receiving updates during replication. If I open the account proxy database I can see all the new posts in all newsgroups.
I cleared replication history and tried again but to no avail.
The local replica has 85,410 docs and is 429MB in size. Are there any inherent limits that might cause this. The checking appears to go alphabetically by newsgroup name.
My first is forums.announce and checking stops after forums.biz.websites.w3, the other forums then continue on to forums.software.windows.xp
Any ideas ?
One other problem with offline working. It seems that all my offline posts are sent as HTML, while all my online posting obeys my plain text only setting. Why would the format setting be disregarded when working offline ?
Thanks for any insight.
