Does anyone know how to expand a local group in the to or cc box? I thought you could just hit a few keys for that?
Also, when someone replies to an email when the user uses a local group, does that work? Will the email reply to everyone?
Thanks,

Subject: local group
There are many posts on this. Here is the first one I found: https://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd6forum.nsf/55c38d716d632d9b8525689b005ba1c0/b56bf7f72e06ef9e8525715e00741471?OpenDocument&Highlight=0,expand,group
If someone replies, the reply will only go to everyone if you have expanded the group list. If you don’t expand it, then they cannot reply to all coherently.

Subject: RE: local group
It seems many people have this issue? So there is no way to expand a local group when sending the email (group in my personal address book)? F9 is a thing of the past, correct?
All the posts I’ve read give complicated explanations…to a simple question?
Subject: F9 expands them for me.
Subject: local group
Yes, F9 does still expand it. Even if you don’t manually expand it, once you send it, it automatically expands. The recipients see all the members and not the group name so replies to all do then work because it’s just a list of names.
Subject: RE: local group
Sorry, mine does not work. I’m on 6.5.5. In the “to” field, when I type in a locally created group, one that I created, pressing F9 does nothing.
What’s the secret?
Also, when I send the email, only the group name shows. The recipient does not see all the names, only the group.
What’s up with this?

Do you have the Delivery Option, “Do not expand personal groups” checked off?

I do not have that on my basics tab. I’m on notes 6.5.5. Any other suggestions?

You seem to be having the exact opposite problem. So perhaps your company has placed ExpandPersonalGroups=0
Is anyone else you work with having this problem, or just you?

So it looks like the user has no control over this? If they use a local group, they can’t expand it, nor can the recipient reply to all with history since they can’t expand it either.
Is that a correct statement?
We don’t have access to change the mail template.
Subject: RE: See here
“Is that a correct statement?” I can’t say yes or no, since what you are seeing does not match what others (myself included) are saying Notes does in their company. Perhaps your company has set ExpandPersonalGroups=0 in your mail template for some reason.
Let’s find out.
Open one of the email messages you are having a problem with. Then open the properties box (ALT+ENTER) and look in the list of fields to see if ExpandPersonalGroup is there and what it is set to.
This will let us know once and forall why it is not working for you.

Mine is set to “0”.
Is that the default?
Subject: That’s your problem then, “0” means do not expand. I’d check with your system admins.
Subject: RE: Delivery Options
Is there a way to make unchecked the default?

Hi,
Did you find out where to set this?

I am running notes 7 and my default “Do not expand personal groups” is checked. Is there an easy way to change the default?
I have looked at all of the preferrence setting I can find with no luck. Can I add a key to the notes.ini?
