Load Balance on Mail Routing

Hi,

I have my main mail hub server A. And I have another server B that can also route NRPC mail.

What I would like to accomplish is: when server A goes down for let’s say a patching day, server C will route email through server B instead.

A, B and C are on different LANs spread around the world. Router type connection doc is set to Push Only. Do you think that it will work if I set Routing cost to 1 on the connection docs of C => A and C => B?

I think clustering A and B might not be a good idea since they are on different LAN’s and cluster rep might present overhead.

Thanks in advance

Just thinking out load I’d take down Server A and then see how Notes itself routes mail. It may do it for you before you do anything.
