LN 8 - LDAP server details

Dear all,

I would like to connect to the Lotus LDAP server. To do this I have to decypher the port and my credentials. I intend to connect using Thunderbird; My aim is to query the server for colleuges Email addresses / info from within Thunderbird.

In LN 8, I can go to:

File / Preferences.

Here I can see my account, listed as:

Account Name Type Server

T1Notes LDAP T1Notes/F1Tyres

Properties revelle :

Login Information / Use Direct Login or Single Signon.

There is no other information.

Which port and server does the LDAP server listen on, and which details should I use to connect via another LDAP client?

Best regards,

P.

Subject: as usual

Domino LDAP by default listen as other LDAP servers on port 389.Ususally you have to provide BaseDN, which is usually just o=YourDominoOrganization.

To authenticate you provide your LDAP username and internet password.

If your username is Alex Bax/F1Tyre, than you need to log as: cn=Alex Bax,o=F1Tyre

Subject: Base DN & Bind DN

Hi, The fields in Thuderbird read:

Hostname: (I have used the domino server address)

Base DN:

Port number: 389

Bind DN:

I do not know what the Base DN or the Bind DN translate to in the Lotus Notes world.

Subject: cn & o

I have looked into Notes and can see under :User Security / Your Names

This information:

User Name: Percy Johnson/NL/F1Tyres

Aliases: Percy Johnson

Thunderbird*

I add this into the LDAP settings:

cn=NL,o=F1Types

Restarted Thunderbird, but had no joy.

Subject: stopped

No need to worry. The firewall team has blocked access to the LDAP port on the Domin server from our PCs, so that we are forced to use LN over a terminal server (RDP) and thus cannot use another client. Literally, this is the reason. How kind. I’ll just carry on using Thunderbird with the X-Reply set to my own personal account, and the From: address set to the company one.
