I am having issues with the out of office service where it does not always run. Are there any troubleshooting documents available? I have seen the detailed setup docs. The out of office service works for some users but not for others. I have checked to make sure that the out of office agent is not enabled for those users. The summary is sent to the user with no names on it and out of office is turned off. These are Win Xp systems, 2gb memory, 8.5 client, and server 2003 is also Domino 8.5. Any suggestions?
Subject: Out Of Office
Not sure if that is what you asked about. Are these users with OOO problem having editor access to their mailboxes maybe? If yes, in Agent properties pick the user name it should run for and choose enable access level users to run it. Another thing can be exceeded mail quota and then it doesn’t save changes. Check if Agent runs if you start from agent list instead of Tools in mailbox.
Hope it helps
Subject: out of office – service
Im not using the agent method I have switched to the new 8.5 service method (all users have mgr access to their mail file and we do not use quotas – but thanks). The Tell router o shows that I have 11 users setup for out of office. When I sent these 11 people an email I only received 8 out of office returns. After reviewing the 3 that did not return an out of office only 1 didnt have good reason. I then went in as Full access administrator and disabled and then reenabled the out of office for that 1 person and it started working. Any insight?
Subject: OOO service
OOO service becomes immediately enabled, if the mail template determines that the user is configured to have OO service (rather than agent).
The only reason why it would not become enabled if the user’s home mail server could not be reached. Either because they were disconnected or because their home server was down.
The reason why you work around worked, is that you were able to reach the user’s home mail server.
Subject: Tell router
Did just find the “Tell router o” command for the console to display anyone with an out of office service enabled. SHould be a start
Subject: Out of Office/mail router
It looks as if my problem is that the mail router is not picking up my user’s configuration that out of office is enabled. All documentation indicates that when a user sets the out of office it should become active immediately. (this is true for some users) But one of the users I am having trouble with never did show up as part of the mail router process. I waited for 1/2 hour and although the user was set for out of office he never showed in my Tell router o command. Anyone have any ideas on this?
