LN 6.5 & 8.5 client installation in one PC?

Hi,

Lotus Notes 6.5.4 client already installed on my pc and wanted to install LN 8.5 client also (No upgrade).

It’s not allowing to install both the version in one pc.

Please suggest.

Subject: Running clients on one machine…

One of the forums had running Notes 7 and Notes 8 clients on the same machine related information maybe you could follow the same for 6.5 and 8.5…

  1. create a file system copy of my notes 7 directory to say C:\Lotus\Notes7 (including the data dir)

  2. upgrade my R7 client to R8.

  3. create a shortcut to C:\Lotus\Notes7\nlnotes.exe to start the Notes7 client (after launching the R8 one).

  4. Create the shortcut and edit the field Target to: C:\Lotus\Notes7\nlnotes.exe “=C:\Lotus\Notes7\notes.ini”

Also you have to edit the lines in Notes.ini where is referred to the datadirectory (This should be c:\lotus\Notes7\data.…).
