I’m trying to clean up groups in the Domino Directory and need to know if certain groups are used in the acl of any active databases. Is there a way to create a list of all databases which have a certain group in its acl?Thanks for your help
Subject: list of databases by acl group
This is what I use to check for a name…I believe it would work for a group also.
Dim workspace As New NotesUIWorkspace
Dim dbdir As New NotesDbDirectory("neptune")
Dim session As New NotesSession
Dim db As NotesDatabase
Dim acl As NotesACL
Dim firstEntry As NotesACLEntry
Dim secondEntry As NotesACLEntry
filename=workspace.Prompt( PROMPT_OKCANCELEDIT, "FILENAME", "Enter path/File Name to save to", "c:/Landa" )
Set db = dbdir.GetFirstDatabase(DATABASE)
lkname=workspace.Prompt( PROMPT_OKCANCELEDIT, "ACL SEARCH", "Enter Name", "" )
Open filename For Output As #2
On Error Resume Next
While Not(db Is Nothing)
If Not(db.DesignTemplateName = "StdR50Mail" ) Then
Call db.Open( "", "" )
If db.Isopen Then
Set acl = db.ACL
Set entry = acl.GetFirstEntry
While Not entry Is Nothing
If(entry.Name="CN="+lkname+"/O=NISD") Then
Print #2, entry.Name + " "+ db.Title
’ Msgbox db.Title, , db.FileName
End If
Set entry = acl.GetNextEntry(entry)
Wend
Print db.Title
End If
End If
Set db = dbdir.GetNextDatabase
Wend
Close #2

Yes there is: The Find Group(s) command in the admin client.
Subject: Look in your catalog.nsf
The information you are looking for is listed under Access Control Lists \ By Name. You could compare that view to the Groups view in the NAB, and see what values are missing.
