Linux Notes 8.5 - black font and background

I use a dark gtk-2.0 theme because I find it easy on my eyes. Lotus Notes Client 8.5 has picked up the dark background of the theme, but not the light blue text color (e.g. in the To, cc, bcc, and Subject text boxes of emails). It insists on using a black font. I haven’t found the magic incantation to change the font color after much searching through documentation and the internet. I am using Fedora 11. Leads?

I have read through the bug report. I am getting different symptoms. When I use a gtk theme which has light background and dark text I have no problems. I can also see the text when using a dark gtk theme by highliting it. This looks like a Lotus Notes bug to me, which may well be related to the bug report you pointed to.

What makes this more irritating is that if I change to a light background theme, start Lotus Notes, then revert to my dark theme LN appears to work perfectly, with a light background in text boxes. But LN won’t honor the GTK2_RC_FILES to pick up its own gtk theme.
