Linux/Domino Post Install Setup Queries

I have installed Domino 6.0.1 server on linux no problems but I have a few post install procedures I need help with.

  1. When trying to register a user in Domino administrator with roaming profiles set the registration fails with the error ‘roaming profile server is not version 6’. The version is reported correctly in the server document as 6.0.1

  2. When trying to migrate users mail and address books from Outlook Express in to Notes I attempted to use the send notification of upgrade wizard as per the help files - there are only 3 options namely migrate from cc:mail, MS Mail or MS Exchange. I can confirm that the clients did install with all the migration tools which did include Outlook Express.

  3. Regarding the ability to read mail with a web browser many of the buttons and options are unavailable using a Mac (OS 9, OS X, IE, or Netscape and various JRE versions). Is this resolvable? PCs are asked as necessary to run various applets - Macs are given no such option.

  4. The notes minder software running on W2K Sp3 fails complaining that "Directory Assistance failed opening Primary Domino Directory names.nsf, error: file does not exist. The Notes client however is behaving normally.

I can confirm that the server document has no entry for ‘Directory Assistance database name’.

  1. In order to try and resolve some of these issues I have downloaded and installed with success 6.0.1 CF1 upgrade for Notes client and administrator. However, when trying to upgrade the server software, after downloading and untarring it the install script failed with the following error - where “filename” is replaced for over 20 files:

Error validating installation settings:

upgrade: Checksum for file filename is not valid.

Note: I have since downloaded the file again from www.lotus.com and the same error appears.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thank you.
