Interesting problem… I’ve recently been toying with the Linux client in a Suse environment. And it appears that the Linux client forces all mail to interact through the v8 mail template, even if the server has the v7 template applied, and even after the local replica has the design replaced with a v7 template.
If I open the server replica on an XP or Vista machine with Notes 8.02 I’m greeted with the v7 template… but Linux 8.02 forces v8.
What’s odd is that template modifications still seem to take effect. Even though the interface uses the v8 template, a custom change to show an icon when there’s a return-receipt still works. So it’s not a complete override.
Is this really a “design feature”? Or am I batty?
