Linked Doc not found in view

I’ve recently upgraded by workstation clients to 6.5 on Windows 2000, service pack 4. The Domino servers are still 5.0.11. When connected to one server from my workstation, when I try to open server configuration documents I get “unable to open this document: the linked document cannot be found in the view”. The same operation works fine when I open the same doc on another server - same client, same workstation. On the server where I get doc link errors - I can’t edit groups, I only see a blank page with no entries or places to make entries.

I’ve had problems with another application because SP4 removes the Windows JVM, but I got that fixed. I’m puzzled as to whether this is a client problem or a server problem.

I have a similar problem, but it is only happening for one user. Everyone else can open the same database on the same server with no problems.

I had this problem with a database of mine.

The database opens to a frameset and the user couldn’t open any of the documents in the view that was in one of the frames…they were getting that error “Linked Document cannot be found in the view”.

I opened the frameset in Designer and saved it. Then I resigned all of the design elements in that database.

It fixed the problem.

When you get “Linked Document cannot be found in the view” error message, stop the Notes client, delete the Boomark.nsf file and restart the Notes client.Cdlt/
