Link to Notes DB from Web Portal

Hi, I’m not familiar with Notes so please excuse this basic question…

Is there some way that we can link to a notes database application from within a web page. Either by having the notes client application automatically started, or some sort of web interface to the application?

I’ve never heard of iNotes Web Access but that sounds like what I’m looking for. Does using this imply that applications that run in the desktop client need to be rewritten or modified in any way to run through the web access?

TIA,

Paul

A part answer is that you can serve up the data from the Notes applications in Notes views to a standard browser fairly easily. It is darm near trivial to do so. Access can be controlled using Notes features and the data is modifiable using a browser.

If, on the other hand, you are looking to make available the complete functionality of the Notes client my GUESS is that presently is not possible without a remote client. BUT, it appears that IBM is headed towards making that sort of functionality available in the future.

Jack, thanks for the response.

Does anybody know where I might be able to learn a little more about the Notes views that Jack mentioned?

We don’t have Notes here at my location, so if someone could point me in the right direction for any online documentation I’d appreciate it very much.

Thanks!

Paul
