Link to a file

I was trying to look in the forum but unable to find, but would anybody be able to help me with this? I’m trying to create a link to a file on, say, local drive from a web client? I tried the following but will not work:

“[<a href="file:///C:/test.txt">test]”

Thanks Wayne. Here’s how I pasted the text in a notes form then opened the form to test it, unfortunately still didn’t work.

(Funny but in my old applications in Notes 4.6 I had no problem)
