Limited .id files at Notes login

We have a Notes client that is used by 10 different users, and each user has an .id file in the Data subdirectory. When a user attempts to sign on to Notes, all of the user names but one come up under ‘for user’. That one user has to click on ‘other’ under ‘for user’ and select their id file. I have duplicated the problem on a second computer where 9 users all have their names displayed under ‘for user’ and when a 10th is added, one user is not available under ‘for user’. Is this a fixed limitation of the Notes client?

What OS are you using?

I got round a similar problem using location docs pointing to the individual id files.

Same here, on Win98; under User Preferences you’ll have to enable “Prompt for location” so that they’ll be asked at Notes launch.

On those Windows 2000 systems with multiple users, we’ve given each distinct user his/her own Windows username and done the multi-user Notes installation. This segregates each user’s data to his/her own Windows profile, user IDs included.

The original problem occurred on a computer running Windows 2000. The problem has been duplicated on a Windows 98 SE computer.
