I have a very strange problem that I just discovered. In one of my apps that has been working great for years, all of a sudden when saving documents it appears that the most-recently-added fields in a document are getting stripped out and not being saved with the document. This involves a complex form that contains a number of subforms. The weird thing is that the documents after being saved contain exactly 280 fields, which does not correspond to the number of fields on the form. This used to work prior to our upgrading to 6 (our servers are running 6.51, our clients are running various releases of 6, but this problem occurs both with the 6.x client and with the 6.51 client). Anyone else experience this or have any advice?
Subject: Limit on number of fields in a document?
Ben provides a list of limits in Notes/Domino:IBM Lotus Notes/Domino Limits
Anyway, a doc with 280 (!!) fields is IMHO not acceptable.
I do not need a crystal ball to prognosticate that you will run into problems with that.
First you should try to remove all fields you do not need. Maybe you need a completely new application design.
